ERDA receives Mahatma Award 2023

Electrical Research and Development Association (ERDA) by virtue of impactful contribution in Social Impact through Research and Development for the society, has been adjudged as a recipient of the “Mahatma Award Social Good and Impact 2022” by Aditya Birla Group.

The award was presented to ERDA on October 1st 2022 at India International Centre at New Delhi.

ERDA was adjudged for the award in the category – “Mahatma Award for Social Good and its Impact for Nonprofits, NGOS, Foundations, Charitable Organizations and Social Entrepreneurs.”

ERDA received this prestigious award for its contribution in the development of MSME sector in Gujarat, contribution to the society during COVID-19, contribution to reduce carbon emissions intensity, skill development, knowledge dissemination and various impactful research and development contribution.

‘Mahatma Award’ recognizes and celebrates impact leaders and change-makers across the globe, who are making a social impact and leading the way to a sustainable future. Since its inception, Mahatma Award continues to honour the most accomplished sustainable, responsible, social efforts and initiatives within the private, public, and development sectors. The initiatives range from sustainability to philanthropy to shared value to social impact to corporate social responsibility. The Mahatma Award is supported by Aditya Birla Group and Eternal Gandhi Initiative.

Electrical Research and Development Association, a not-for-profit professional organisation, established in 1974, was promoted by the Electrical industries and state Utilities with support from Govt. of India through CSIR and grant given by the Government of Gujarat. ERDA’s technical operations are conducted from head office located in Makarpura, Vadodara and Regional Laboratories at Rabale, Navi Mumbai [West], Gurugram [North] and Rajahmundry [South].
