  • In May 2024, ERDA successfully secured a major contract to conduct a third-party protection audit for a privately-owned power generation company based in the western region of the country. This audit will ensure the company’s compliance with industry standards and enhance the reliability and safety of its power generation systems.
  • ERDA has been awarded a significant order for IEC 61850 conformance testing of Numerical Relays and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED). This new order, from a multinational company, will be executed to meet the stringent requirements of Maharashtra based Utility. Reference for the requirement was Ministry of Power, Government of India, order no. 12/34/2020 – T&R, dated December 7, 2022 for testing of power system equipment for use in supply system and network in the country for cyber security.
  • A central government-owned petroleum refinery in eastern India has enlisted ERDA to 8 perform a mandatory energy audit. This audit aims to ensure adherence to stringent energy efficiency standards, optimize operations, and reduce overall energy consumption.
  • ERDA received its first order to conduct an electrical safety audit for a government hospital located in Gujarat. This marks a significant milestone as ERDA expands its consultancy services into critical infrastructure sectors, ensuring enhanced safety standards and operational reliability.
  • ERDA has recently secured a contract for conducting diagnostic assessments of electrical equipment from a atomic power station situated in the western region of India. This significant order underscores ERDA’s expertise and capability in providing comprehensive diagnostic services that ensure the operational reliability and safety of critical electrical systems.
  • ERDA conducted an evaluation of capacitor as per latest IEC standard 60831 1 & 2 for one of the leading certification agency from Europe.
  • First time calibration of 420 kV standard voltage transformer from an Indian manufacturer was conducted at ERDA. This upgradation in calibration facility shall help other leading CTPT manufacturers for their standard calibration requirement.
  • The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU) and Electrical Research and Development Association (ERDA) entered an agreement to start a “Centre for Energy Management and Sustainability Studies” (EMSS) at the Faculty of Technology and Engineering, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.

Objective of this center is to develop various equivalent academic programs for engineering students and for practicing engineers in the field of Engineering Management. The center will work along with American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM) and form an ASEM chapter, which will be the first of its kind in India. The programs undertaken in this center will be centered on enhancing management and engineering skills so that graduates of this center are prepared to lead in this competitive global environment.
