New/Augmented Laboratory Facilities and Latest Testing Updates

A. New/Augmented Laboratory Facilities

i) During this quarter, two solar equipment units were successfully installed and commissioned to enhance testing capabilities for solar PV modules:

  • Ground Continuity Tester – Ensures reliable electrical continuity in solar PV modules.
  • Cut Susceptibility Tester – Evaluates the durability and resistance of solar PV modules against cuts and external impacts.

These additions further strengthen our commitment to quality and precision in solar testing.

ii) Enhanced Testing Capabilities in the Appliance Section

  • Upgraded Ceiling Fan Air Delivery Test Setup: The test setup has been enhanced as per IS 374-2019 with a fully automated system featuring four anemometers, ensuring precise and reliable performance evaluation.
  • New 1000 kgf Vibration Test System for Batteries: A state-of-the-art vibration testing system has been installed to support rigorous battery testing, reinforcing our commitment to high-quality and reliable testing services.

iii) A new facility has been added in the optical calibration discipline for the calibration of lamps used in measuring Total Spectral Radiant Flux. This capability is essential for the accurate calibration of Integrating Spheres with Spectroradiometer systems.
