This Indian patent is granted for development of Voltage Presence Indicator for Safety Application In Electrical Panel. This innovation ensures safety and protect workers involved in the maintenance / servicing of electrical systems and circuits by providing continuous visual signal by flashing of LEDs for presence of hazardous potential in the electrical line. This device is retrofit type and provides verification of electrical circuit isolation without opening the electrical panel. This invention provides a voltage presence indicator (VPI) circuit which indicates the presence of electrical potential of one or more electrical power input lines of an.AC or DC circuit.

The electrical circuitry of the VPI provides visual indication for monitoring of unsafe voltage in the range from the lowest voltage level of about 40 Volts to up to about 3000 volt into electrical inputs. The lower voltage (40 V in this case) and upper voltage (3000 V in this case) of VPI device can be tuned to any desired value by changing the component values of electronic circuit. VPI device also provides indication of unbalanced line voltage condition by means of dedicated LEDs. The power consumption of VPI device is also very minimal. As compared to similar modules available in international market, the developed module has higher working voltage and operational frequency range and can be used for multiphase AC circuits as well as for DC.
